Idaho's Latin American population has a long history in the state. Beginning in the early part of this century, Central and South American immigrants, principally from Mexico, have come to Idaho to work in the agricultural industry. They have brought with them a unique culture: different language, customs, celebrations, stories, and heritage. Challenge Grant projects which deal with Idaho's Hispanic culture may use the following outline to suggest possible topics or subtopics. We hope that Challenge Grant participants will expand upon this initial list.
