The domain of Social Science encompasses a large number of subjects. For the purposes of the Challenge Grant, we will limit this area to four subjects: History, Geography, Economics, and Government.
The History area will cover from approximately AD 1800 to the present time. Earlier events will be found in the Multicultural portion of this site.
Geography will concentrate on the physical systems of Idaho. There will be some overlap with topics found in the Science pages.
The Economics topic is considered to refer to industries and businesses, which operate in Idaho as well as economic trends that have affected our state.
The Government area will deal with the territorial, state, county, and local governments. Federal government actions, which have impacted Idaho, will also be included in this category.
